OK, some input from me...
Flyers and business cards are effective ways to promote Saxperience and also nice things to keep hold of, to show you have been a part of something. (yes, this does happen)
Both the flyers and business cards cost ME money. Subs money from Premium memebrship does not contribute to the cost of advertising material.
I bought 2000 flyers two weeks ago and it cost £130, which gives you an idea of the costs invovled. Not massive, but it all adds up, trust me!
I choose to send busniess cards and flyers out to ALL premium members in their welcoming pack. Im already having to pay for postage, so including these items does not incur addiotional costs. The fact that Premium memebers are willing to pay for membership to Saxperience does not make these people ultimately 'better', but often it does show a greater sense of committment and willingness to get involved in what sax-p is about. I believe ALL premium members should recive this material, upon registration!
All premium members receive instructions on how to replensih their supplies of business cards and flyers, by way of the Premium Member Newsletter.
Regarding non-Premium Members being 'allowed' to have flyers/business cards
So far, EVERYTIME a non-Premium member has requested to be sent some flyers and cards, they have been sent! Again, this is done at my own expense, but if I consider the request to be genuine and that some good will come of it, I honour the request.
I also circulate flyers and business cards when people purchase stickers.
There is no rule that says non-Premium members cannot have this material. This issue however is costs. If every non-Premium Member were to request flyers to be posted to them, my bank balance would rapidly fall through the floor!
For the record, to date, FOUR non-Premium members that I can remember have requested flyers/cards to be sent to them. Does this tell something itself?
Regarding downloading the flyer from the web site
Currently the flyer is NOT available for download. I set certain standards for sax-p, which I am keen are followed to the letter. For this reason, I would prefer official advertising material only, to be circulated. (the same goes for stickers!)
I do understand this will however cost me more in postage fees, etc. So what's the lesser of two evils?
As I do not wish for the flyer image to be freely available for download and potential defacing/copying I suggested that it may be possible for me to attach the image in the Premium Member forum. It may also be possible for me to attach it in another Member Only forum.
The possibilities are almost endless, but as the artwork was produced by me... I own it, so I get to decide what I do with it. And currently I have NOT decided, so whay are we arguing about it???
To conclude. I sent Alicia some flyers and business cards as she requested them. If Alicia is willing to distribute them, then great.
