There are gains to be made from any engine. Big or small.
Big engines have had there day now. Its not a good era for monster petrol guzzling engines.
Smaller more economical turboed engines are the prefered route for the world today.
And looking at motorsport now. Cars with 1600 cc turboed engines tend to be quicker than there bigger cc counterparts. Its evolution.
1600 f1 cars coming soon.
So we are to see some pretty powerfull small engined cars everywhere soon.

However an antiquated 8valve TU from the 80s is another story!
