i do get what you mean though, but wheres the fun in buying a car than anyone else can walk into a show room and buy?

i totally understand, the only reason i CAN critisize is that i know what its like, my fiesta turbo was individual and a very special car that i tipped ALOT of cash into and it did become a very quick car etc mag featured and won fast ford car of the year.. BUT knowing that and knowing what i spent i wish i'd have ploughed it into the cossie as blimey my cossie would be a 10s car by now !!!
So now i just do my best to make people realise the logic of it all

customising is an individual taste. for instance I dont give a fudge about speed... everyone's different.

Simple answer...... to see what would happen!
When my car was turbo'd initially (2000) nobody knew whether the engine, etc could take the strain. Once youve started a project youve got to see it through to a stable level... then carry on developing if you care to. That's pretty much where I got upto with my car. Sure, there are things that IW ould change or do differently, but at the same time, its reliable... as long as you come to terms with changing the odd driveshaft and gearbox
Regarding performance... dont read too much into booked figures and times. Its how the car performs and feels on the track/road that matters... not on a wet airfield, using some magazines dodgy timing gear

On 205/40/17 wheel/tyres the speedo is virtually spot on.. by calculation and via GPS.

defo no doubt like i said its great what u have done and acheived, all i was saying is that when people ask me now about fiesta rs tuning i try and put them off huge conversions cause if they want a quick car as jeremy clarkson once said, dont make a slow car fast, make a fast car faster!!! As it is cheaper and easier in the long run ... think its nice for people who have been there to point in the correct direction for others....
But fair play to you, my vtr is nice to nip around in but i would never get rid of the cossie...

Never been on roolers but it will have to be soon for mapping as hes put new cams in (gone from fast road to full rally/race) I reckon its around the 170bhp mark and 750kg.
|
170bhp from a 1.6 16v Tu engine is not Full race / rally - mines pushing 170ish at the fly and is still perfectly driveable around town etc,
200bhp+ (N/A) from the vts/gti engine is full race spec

It'll always vary from car to car.
I was doing 80mph all the way home from the lake district today on the speedo and the satnav always read 78/79mph which is pretty accurate generally
