Update:

i've treated the car over the xmas holiday. i got myself a set of 6000k hids for £10 which i was quite chuffed about and took some pictures after a quick wash and polish earlier.

hids:

and my favourite picture:

next on the list is a vts gear box that i got for £80 last night, apparently its on 54k.

plans are to refurb the box with new seals and give it a decent clean before it goes on.

cheers dan

Love the progress on this. just the fact of keeping it clean and simple.

Going back to the new grille... was it BRAND new? or was it second hand but mint?

Also you said you got some new wheels...... what have you done with the other set of vts wheels? i know im going back a while now but thought i would ask

i've still got the black wheels mate, there on now so i don't damage the silver wheels.

it came with the car mate it was a mint condition grill that came off the car originally.

some pictures of the car after a small drive ended up in a 250 miles drive to the lake district and back haha not bad though only put £30 in and got 252 miles before the light came back on.

small update:

i've had a bit of spare money this week so thought id splash out and i've got the car a few presents.

timing belt kit
water pump
diff seals for the vts gear box
rear pads

total : £57

which aint bad in my opinion.

tomorrow im getting my tappets reset, will be buying some kam racing gear linkages and getting 2 linkage rolling pins one for the vtr box and one for the vts box. as im not sure when im fitting my s box so want my r box to be as mint as possible to either sell on or keep as a spare just in case.

went to get the tracking done today and found out its still perfect my rear has moved out more but as its a bush axle not a bearing axle, i've been told it can't go so the axle should be fine but the guy at the mot place said he saw the problem i've got before and it turned out to be the mounting bushes for the axle itself so i've come to the conclusion i need to fuck them off so i've just ordered a set of Baker BM solid mounts from kamracing.

lets hope this cures it

Not much has happened really i did my axle but its still getting worse so i don't know where to go now tbh, on another note im going to get a quote on saturday to get the front bumper repainted as its got a few marks on it that have really started to get me down lately.

Now ive also had the idea to get a flocked dash an get my door cards done to match obvs id get all spare parts so i can always change back if i dont like it but i think it could work quite well

Looks tidy this, you'll like it more with the vts box fitted. Whats up with the axle you say?

From what i can tell it originally wasnt fitted straight (now fixed) it pulls to the left loads and when it went for tracking the front was perfect but something is apparently failing on the pass side rear as its getting more degrees out but ive checked everything and nothing has play its a really strange one tbh.

I seen from your thread you live in penn i work 2 mins from penn island, so might see you about

ill let the pictures do the talking.

also took the exhaust off the rubbers to give it a bloody good clean

a pic to show my new gaff and the mrs new project

i went into work today and sorted my clagging arb end plates and fitted my new disc's while i was there we were trying to get my mates new but old vts running again

new disc's

old erm fucked disc's

so ye cars back healthy again and waiting for me to pull my finger out and fit my s box.

i got abit bored earlier so i decided to smoke my front lights again because i was getting bored with the front end and even when i get bored again i can fit them to the mrs car and have her (mint) standard front lights.

then i went to take a few pictures:

also got my self a nice new lower brace(cheers badgersport) as the current one is erm abit bent haha:

then since i was still bored i decided to have a play with some vts and vtr clocks i had lying about doing nothing and came up with this:

i've just gotta get the milage changed on them and im away, my mrs thought it would look good with the black s wheels on so i thought why not something to do.

PLEASE NOT THEY NEED A REFURB ASAP:

Thanks mate, yeh I gotta move forward though! Smoke your fogs to match your lights, then abit of paint on the grill and the front will be looking great IMO!

Cars them same as always, so not much of an update there but the update is ive booked fcs tickets and track time so looking forward to that, planning on going on the rolling road aswell so should be good to put a rough figure to the engine.

List before track is:

Yet another oil change
Reset tappets
Pressure bleed the brakes
New front tyres.

Cant wait to see how it performs, want a clutch upgrade aswell before my s box goes in but i really need to see if the s box is actually any good.
