Am I right in saying you are using a brush/sanding tool on an angle grinder so far?

I have been looking at these for the seat frames , how much do you remove from the tunnel. Pictures if you have any please

What thickness of metal do you use for the roll bar support / feet??
Drill the spotwelds and remove the whole piece over the tunnel a-la

Excellent thank you. Once the tunnel is removed do you have to weld more metal in or is it just a reinforcement plate??

This may sound like a stupid question but how do you know if you are going to be sitting comfortably? Will the bucket be on sliders?

You figure out a rough position then adjust on the mountings to suit.

No sliders.

So handbrake surround etc all taken off but i dont know if this was a good idea as its quietthin now on the tunnel where i am going to have to put the seat rails so i dont know if i should have done it :/

Worst case if i think its too weak ill cut the while section iff one from scrap yard an weld it on

I think you have done it the hard way
you could have just made up custom frames to mount onto std seat fixing points ,then you can tailor the seating postion to suit
there is a reason the tunnel is double thickness and that is to retain the seat in an accident .
hit a wall and you suddenly become 200 times heavier , so that is why seat mountings and what they are attached too need to be strong+ double thickness tunnel spreads the load evenly .where as a small foot on the seat frame does not do it as well .
So when you make your new seat mountings make sure you weld a plate to tunnel under each one at leat 4" bigger in all directions than the frame mounting + plug weld them to the tunnel .
same goes for h/brake mounting --needs to be thicker than the floor or it will bend and then rip out eventually

I don,t quite follow your logic
you are going to get a custom cage at lots of money ,yet you don,t just buy a new roof skin and are going to weld it up ,which to do well without a lot of filler is very hard .roof skin drills off dead easy and fitting is easy to too if you can weld .maybe get your cage installer to do it at same time ?

that section is not "double skin" its raised away from the tunnel and single skin.

trouble with it is that without cutting it out you can't get the seat central to the steering wheel, if you wan tit low enough that is, not an issue for shortarses.
