Thats standard mate, sometimes when you turn the engine off the temp creeps up a bit causing the fan to come on, it does go off on its own though so no need to restart it. If it doesnt go off then you may have a problem. But to me sounds normal

Hmmm seems a bit strange if its staying on for over 5 mins, usualy its 1 min max. Keep an eye on it and see if it actually goes off on its own

its meant to do that! so engine doesnt over heat and break! just leave it next time it does it, i just tell people i have a turbo well it doesnt do it on the VTS like haha

Whats the condition of your radiator? take a look at my old vtr thread theres some pics of mine and my fan used to stay on for about 3 -5 mins.

The fans wired up direct from the fuse box , meaning that if the temp sender on the rad switches , it pops the fan on . It nothing really to be worried about as long as the rads not buggered and there's plenty of water in the system
