So now that my Photobucket is back up and working I can update this again
Here are a couple of before and after pics I put together. Think I need white wheels back

Due to the typical leaking problem with these things that I have I’ve stripped the car and found the leak. It’s coming through the rear lights and in through the boot hinge area on the passenger side  I will get onto that once the weather warms up a bit. So as it was wet inside was a good reason to strip the car

Somewhere in the past few weeks I’ve picked up an alloy C2 VTS inlet. Took it apart and had a mess around with it to work out how I’m going to get it to work, what I need etc.
I’ve pretty much worked all that out now so when I remember to buy the plate I’ll make an adaptor plate for it as the C2’s use an electric throttle body and the 106’s are cable.
Here’s one of the inlet

Then I bolted it on just to see what my options were. The buttlerfly doesn’t open when bolted on like this that’s why I need to make a plate.

The MAP sensor swaps straight over

Then set about working out how to hold the cable onto the inlet to give the cable the tension in needs to work.

I’ve got a few more ideas for that though

There are a couple more bits to come but will write that up in a minute

With all the bad weather we have been having I risked a puddle. That ended up being a lake! As a result, my mani cracked Luckily the next day Craig was free and he welded it up for me lol

The other side cracked too so hopefully that one will be going in the bin soon anyway and I’ll get a new one.

A pic of mine and my mate Moe’s Corolla T-Sport together in the unit

Had many fun times racing that in the old car.

Today I have been prepping the Morettes and badge for paint. I’m going for the same design as I did on the last car. Going to start painting in a minute I think.

That is all for now until I paint or Lydden Hill on Saturday

All comments and ideas welcome. Good or bad.

Last weekend I took the car to Lydden Hill to test it out see how she handled. As the car is I am very happy with it! Handled nicely, chased down a lot of the others on track at the same time as me and was also a lot of fun. I don’t have many pics but here’s what I have.

After my day I think it is time for a new set of track tyres. Lol

Then I made it back to the bottom of my road and my driveshaft shot out through my tyre. So pretty lucky and it was in interesting drive home with the driveshaft on its way out. The alternator belt snapped on my 3rd session leaving me with nothing but still got one last session in then Webby took me to his to pick up a spare. Cheers mate Lol

That’s it for now. But I have just got a new job so lots of things are in the pipeline. Also had it running on bodies the weekend just gone

Finally got paid so had a bit of a spend up and still going.
First off I got a battery and its bloody TINY but starts the car no problem and weighs nothing! I can rest it on my little finger. Lol
Here are a few comparison pics

The battery fits nicely in the rear quarter panel so I’ve decided that’s where it’s going so a few pics of relocating the batter.

Which has left me an empty space in the engine bay.

Then I had an urge to do something. Something I’ve been wanting to do for ages……

I got them running on the standard ECU but obviously on the look out for an ECU. Don’t know what I’m after though. But they sound AWESOME!!!

Gave the engine bay a bit of a clean as parts of it were filthy and put my painted ECU tray in.

Aaaaand some more goodies
Got some Brembo’s and some white Team Dynamic 1.2’s.

She looks much much better now. The Brembo’s are going for sandblasting and powder coating in the week hopefully.

Should be a few more updates to come soon.

Well a lot has gone on since the last update! I don’t really know where to start. Lol
Going in picture order the bonnet badge got painted eventually.

Along with starting the Morettes which became a right ball ache! Had a reaction that kept happening then the plastic went all weird. But eventually I got them done too.

The Morettes took a good rubbing down back to bare plastic and started again. Eventually got them done. I tinted the indicator and main beam lenses too and put mesh in the inner lamp holes rather than just leaving them open.

Little comparison of normal to tinted.

I then finished painted the morettes. They went as planned and was all good

Then feeling a little unsure about it I put them together.

Still unsure I put them on the car and I like them. A lot! Also got a new tow strap. Lol

Also in behind there is a new Nissens radiator, slim like fan and oil cooler.

The time has finally come to say goodbye to the plastic inlet. So it was out with the old.

And in with the new

After making a new accelerator cable and putting on a C2 VTS inlet gasket they were on! I did use gasket paper but has an air leak and sounded like a pigeon was under my bonnet! Lol.
Started peeling off the black door strips as they were cracking. I’ve got half way.

Also ordered a new thermostatic sandwich plate.

Along with new driveshafts.

Car's looking awesome! Shame about the first 106. Always had a soft spot for a cherry red 106

So I thought I’d give mopping a go and wish that I had never bothered!
I was claying the car etc and decided to take the spoiler off to see a massive colour difference. Me being me wanted to sort it, myself. Bad move as I went through the paint! Haha!

Also took the bumper off and gave it a clean behind there too.

Been a while since I wrote any of this up So catching up with about 6 months of progress.

So the Inox got a good polish, a new alternator belt and get the Brembo’s on. Used Mintex discs and got Redstuff pads which will soon be being replaced for some Ferrodo DS2500’s just STILL haven’t got around to buying them.

An under the wheels comparison.

Just a little difference in size! I then extended the air temp sensor for the bodies as originally the wires are too short.

Then it all came apart again as I decided to buy some Gaz GHA’s all round.

Also, I had an air leak on the inlet manifold and it sounded like there was a Budgie in my engine bay so I bought a C2 VTS inlet gasket and fitted that. Problem solved!

Then finally my ECU arrived. I went for a Predator as my mate had a map on his for bodies so I used that and we tweaked it ourselves to run on my car with the help of Andy setting it up etc.

And finally got the car on the road again after what seemed a long time off the road. I took her straight to Brands Hatch for Frept meet.

Some more new bits turned up. I got some ne rear discs and pads. Again, I went for Mintex on both this time.

The Innovate wideband Lambda sensor came too to make the tweaking of the map more easier and accurate than using the standard Lambda.

Then went and picked up a new beam and decided to fit it the day before a track day at Lydden Hill.

The beam was supposed to already be lowered. Turns out it wasn’t so we had to lower it.

The antics went on till 2am, we were leaving at 5!!!

So after a long night and a VERY stubborn Sherry and no sleep I made it to Lydden Hill for BHP Show. This was the first track day done on this setup and really the first test. She was flying! Really was impressed and so were a lot of others The smile on my face on the day said it all! Few pics that got sent to me.

A little sleep between sessions. Haha.

Had a few teething problems which were expected but overall I was happy with the the setup

One of the problems was on track she decided to spit her trumpets out! I lost one so after getting hold of Colin Satchell I sent him one and he made me a replacement the exact same.

So once that arrived back in they went and there is no way they’re coming back out anytime soon!
The next things on the list were a 6 paddle Helix clutch kit and a Lightened & Balanced flywheel from atspeed.
Everything behind looked good.

Another of the little problems was an intermittent missfire so whipped off the bodies and after being told they were 182 injectors found that they were infact standard GTi injectors. I ordered some 182 injectors but one turned up broke so ended up leaving the GTi ones in to get me to FCS where I had the same problems

Also picked up some Baker BM solid mounts so on they went, gave her another service and it was time to go to FCS

Little clean up and some holes in the front bumper.

Well it has been a while and a lot is changing this year. I’ll start with catching up from FCS. Done a track day at Lydden Hill and had a go at Brands too for the cars final outing of the year.

Had a little spin at FCS

Also took it to Pod. Managed a 14.6 with fuelling problems due to a fault with the ECU. Later went on to find an injector driver had a dry solder joint.

Had a good time at Lydden. Had fun with a Ginetta Jnr which resulted in a good few laps and a naughty spin that nearly rolled the car. The car went really well. Me ans Webby had a whoring session.

A pic from the spin where I hit the gravel and I lost a wheel arch.

Then Brands came. First time on there and enjoyed it. No track pics unfortunately. I will get some videos uploaded soon though.

Now for the interesting bits. I’ve been in talks with Liam about a new engine. Originally I was going to settle with 170-180bhp. After talking we came up with the idea of building a race spec engine. What was only talking and a dream is currently turning into reality! Lol.
So to start off I bought some bodies. GSXR 44mm K5 twin injection bodies currently at SatchellHQ.

I’ve also picked up another engine. Liam donated a head to me that he has been working on. Few pics of the engine.

First off Liam Stripped the head he had at his already and ported the exhaust ports for me, and what a lovely job he has done of it.

Meanwhile David had made the manifold for my bodies down at Satchell Engineering.

Which meant Liam could make a start on porting the inlet and port matching the manifold and inlet ports.

Planning a bit further ahead a suspension setup come up for grabs that I just couldn’t let get away. Dynamics 3 way Maxi suspension kit.

The rears need a good servicing so will be sending them off to Cornering Force to be refurbed. Fronts were only done a year ago.
Recently bought an OMP WRC steering wheel and Q/R boss to replace what I had.

The bottom end strip down also began and is now done and ready to be sent off to Liam.

Then the clean started.

The old rods and pistons.

As of now that is it. Blogs all up to date. There will be lots more coming soon.

Today the dash came out. I’m starting to prepare for the car to go off for the roll cage to be fitted. It’s going to Geoff who owns a company called R.E.D and is being fitted with a Custom Cages stock hatch cage with extra bars, gussets, seam welding, Satchell Engineering front stiffening kit and part of the bulk head to be moved back so the bodies and filter sit in nicely. Also the wipers will be converted to the LHD setup. Couple of pics from today.
