yeah old thread got clogged up pretty bad with alsorts of irrelevant waffle!
Will try and keep this one a bit cleaner.
Ta fo rthe comments, Not sure about being one of the best. There are some serious cars coming out of various workshops at the minute. Just a bit different in the fact I'll still be rocking a bit of a body kit instead of going for this 'euro' rubbish

clutch plate arrived today. (thats Rorz) oly outstanding piece for the engine is a fuel rail, but that can be sorted anytime and wont stop the engine being fitted. Away on holiday now, so it will have to wait a few more weeks
couple of pics for now though:
clutch
fans, which came other week:
and the new charger bracket:

aluminium iirc
edit, that might just be the new ones. This may be steel as it feels relatively heavy. Has been chrome plated though

Did get some time on the car last weekend but basically sorted things out rather than doing anything productive lol
Ordered new handbrake cables and various nuts and bolts so I can get on and bolt all the suspension and anti roll bars on properly. Thatll be the next job.
Also should be collecting a new vts next weekend to use as a donor for all the little trim bits which I seem to have mislaid

Right, as said above, since moving house last year and hense having the car between old house, bodyshop and new house, various small trim bits, bolt, screws, brackets and weather seals have been misplaced over time, most of which are needed for rebuilding the car. After spending quite a bit of time trawling ebay and other classifieds, and seeing how much money people want for each of these bits (eg £10 per runner seal, and I need 5 of them!), I decided to just buy a cheap full car. That way I can take what I need, sell the rest and overall hopefully turn a bit of a profit, rather than spending loads. An added bonus is that I can use the donar car almost as an instruction book, helping me to remember where everything fits and how!! (its been far too long sat in my garage )
The ebay trawling paid off, and yesterday I picked up a black vtr with 16v conversion. Its got a few nice parts on it, so making my money back shouldnt be an issue. GIven it a clean up this morning to see exactly how it looks, quite surprised how well it shined up tbh.
spec as I currently understand it is:
16v conversion, with midly ported rebuilt head, standard mani and exhaust and shitty cone filter
106 half leather interior inc door cards
S1 106 rallye 'box
Rebuilt rear beam
Smoothed front bumper, fogs deleted, plate recess filled and splitter/bump strip colour coded
Rear bumper colour coded and tow hook smoothed
side badged smoothed and colour coded
106 mirrors
Rally designs coilovers up front
15" alloys on 195/50/15 tyres
Nice new Nissens Radiator
266mm front brakes

I must admit I was tempted to run it as a daily for a while, but there is no mot left on it and don't want to pay to get it through one. I'd consider selling it straight on complete if someone made a decent offer. But it's been up for sale for quite a while not with no serious offers on it. Even the previous owner considered breaking it. Shame because with a little effort it'd got the makings of a nice car.
