why didnt it work? was the socket small enough to go on very tightly?
Can you get at it with a welder (enough room around it?) to weld a nut on top?
Alternatively if you have a selection of drill bits, drill into the head dead centre as a pilot hole, and keep enlarging this going only the depth of the head of the nut untill you have it nearly all gone then beat the rest off with a hammer /chissel and slide wheel off. Then clamp vice grips on the remainder of the bolt when the wheel is off or weld a nut on the end and turn off

well it wouldnt fit on tbh tried getting a 22 over it and alsorts but it just wouldnt fit
im of to carry on trying to get a 12 over the round bit as it was starting to form a shape and if this doesnt work i'll get it off by cutting disc on it and flathead bit on it

smack a smaller socket size over the top of it (16mm / 17mm ish) and get it off that way, just means you will an extra stud to replace
