Camera for the girlf's birthday???????? - Saxperience

I was thinking of getting the girlf a compact camera as part of her birthday present, I'll only have around £100 to spend, maybe a little bit more.

She wants a coloured camera, so either pink, lite blue, turquious... you get the idea.

I'd like it to have around 10mpixels+ and at least 3 Opt zoom, maybe more.

What do you guys suggest??

Not really a fan of Kodak cameras tbh.

Would prefer it to be either:

Canon
Nikon
Sony
Panasonic
Samsung
Fujifilm

That is my order of preference, but then I'm in to photography, the girlf couldn't care less, just so long as it takes decent pics.

My girlfriend has a Fujifilm Finepix Z20fd

Its 10MP
Comes in Blue,green,pink,white & black iirc

She bought bogey green lol, pics arent too bad for a point and shoot...

Panasonic lumix/casio exilm

are both very good P&S.

My casio has taken a shit load of abuse on nights out, and IQ was good till someone got lots of shit on the glass which i cant be arsed to clean atm lol

Is this just for your missus to take holiday snaps etc?

Best compact i've seen recently is the Pannasonic Lumix FX37, 10Mpixel, lens image stabilisation, good zoom range starting wide at 25mm & 720p video recording.

Comes in over budget but it is a fantastic piece of kit for such a small camera. One you wouldn't feel embarrassed using yourself

Comes in a few colours too.

Yeah, it's just for her to take pics when she's out with mates or when she takes her niece out for the day etc.

I do like the Lumix cameras, but aren;t they a bit bulky cause of the big lens?

What do you guys think to this one: -

Nikon s220

I think the colour is just right for her and after having a chat with the blokes at Jessops and Curry's Digital last night, it seems a pretty good camera, obviously with it being a Nikon it's going to be good quality.

Thoughts?
