really good pics mate and very good camera
the first is my preferred
but, one question....why have you shot with a fast time like 1/500??
with a much long shot time, like 1/160 or 1/200, there was been a better panning IMHO
i hope that you understand me

Absolutely
It was my first time shooting bikes, they are so much faster than cars
I think you would be hard pushed to pan a bike 100ft away from you doing 140mph-150mph @ 1/200
I will give it a go next time out and share the results with you
As Dave G would say - the camera is only as good as the person behind it
Cheers
Ant

Good stuff Ant, nice variation of shots there.
1/160s would be near impossible to get a decent number of keepers I reckon. 1/250s would be just about doable. I was shooting F3 cars this weekend and found myself up at 1/320 quite a lot.

By 'keepers' I mean the number of photos you would keep as they are in focus etc.
Until you actually shoot fast moving cars and bikes, you don't realise how difficult it is, especially if they are close to you.
DTM cars are easy at 1/100s, Here's one I shot at 1/50s
