Start run
\\YourServerNameGoesHere
do you have a log on screen to log in Adam?
say if you do and your logon name is
AdamWatkins
to access your area on server it would be
\\ServerName\AdamWatkins$

Good effort Soulless.
If you still cant get on it using the path to the server then you'd need to post up some more details, if you have them, like the operating systems involved etc.
How professional is the setup too?

no, it may ask for his username and password.
like for example
at my work
if i did the same as Adam brought a standalone laptop in
did
\\nks-sr-001\Soulless$
i'd have a pop up appear
in which a username and password box need to be filled in
in username:
norton\Soulless
password:
********

yeah we get that when accessing stand alones, and yeah your right because when we log on locallay and not to the network you do get the log in box, so yeah as mentioned the should work, to find out your server name if you dotn already know it do
Start>>Run>>TYPE: cmd>>TYPE: hostname

yup i agree with Karl here to browse a server we just type
\\mcs-sr-001 for server 1, 003 for server 3 ect in the run command, but ur account has to have permission to see folders on the server.

my setup at work is workgroup based.
logon to the workgroup, and away you go on not depending on your set network rights..

i normally find it easiest to map the drive, right click my computer and click map network drive then it will ask you for the path (\\server\drive or folder that is shared)
i.e
\\me-juhhyb98u\c
