Default '55 MG ZT pre show clean.

Gave my dads zt a clean today as he's going to a show this weekend with other old men..

The car hasnt been cleaned in a fair few months so has picked up a lot of cack, living under trees dosent help

I started off by snowing the car to loosen all dirt as standard,

After that that dweled for a while i rinsed it and started on all the shuts, i once again used GPC 10:1 and an asortment of brushes.

The filler neck was the worst, the toothbrush came out for that one..

Once done i set about washing the car using the standard issue 2bm for both paint and wheels, being a "good" clean i used the megs shampoo as its more heavy duty than others i have.

The car was filithy, going by this water it most defiantly needed that clean...

And that was after snowing and doing all the trim with GPC

The car was dried using a drying towel then i took to the glass with some megs cleaner,

I use kitchen roll with this as i found mirco fibre towels not as good.

lastly was the trim, some had faded quite badly from the sun and had markings from previous polishes, it was firstly cleaned with 10:1 GPC then sealed with a new product im trying,

I think its really good..!

The mirros being the worst, some before and afters..

Exterior done for now, No tyre black was applied as its a nightmare for traveling to shows, so that dosent go on until its on the stand.

I also gave the interior a good hoover and wipe over using a fantastic product i discovered a while ago now,

One before to show how bad it was inside,

And a direct comparision to now,

(yes i know the pedals dirty, i didnt see that )

And a over look of the whole interior cleaned.

Fair enough... What did you use on the carpets? Mine are in dire need of a clean. Also need to find something decent for leather seats, but might get that poorboys stuff for all the other interior trim. Looks a good clean you've done though, always surprised by how thorough you are!

A good Hoover and a scrub in car will bring it up clean but taking it out and going to town gets it like new, is a lot of hassle though lol..

Microfibres on the dash etc and I use a soft brush on the upholstery if they need to be scrubbed.

Today saw the engine bay being sorted..

Before

First i lightly rinsed the bay then went over it with various brushes and GPC mixed 5:1.

While at work

Then dried using microfibre towels, i left it to complely dry then applied some more poorboys to all the plastics to bring them back up with a "natural shine"

Some afters.

And the only bit of "shine" in the entire boring bay

While the bay was drying i tackled the exhausts

Before

After

Just dont to give the car a quick wash friday morning so its ready for the show on the weekend..!

oh so funny...

I have never tried to clean up a standard exhaust so was unsure if autosol would have any real results.... obviously it does
