'Wonder Wheels'
Saw this on Cliosport forum, in Halfords it is £9.99 and other shops slightly cheaper.. however in Tesco its is a cheap £1.73! I managed to find it in a Tesco petrol station.
I have tried it on one wheel and it does, smells, and looks exactly the same as Iron-x and is a lot cheaper! Some of them on CS have tried it on their paint and says it is the same as Iron-X also.
Just a little heads up to save some pennies.

I bought this ages ago and posted it on a couple of forums, got poo-pood by loads of people saying wonder wheels is shit and couldnt be as good as iron x. Thats despite them not having tried it.
Did you mean it was £1.73? When i bought mi e from tesco it was 4quid which was still a bargain.

Think it's only in the petrol stations as well, can you definatly use it as iron x? With the same effect? I could buy like 7 bottles for the price of a bottle of iron x lol

Yeah people on CS use it on paintwork as they would Iron X as it is pH neutral and have had no issues. Is a good alternative.. however on my paint I think i'll save the proper stuff for that and just put loads of this cheap stuff on my wheels.

Pretty sure someone put a thread up about this product a while back saying it was nothing like iron x and didnt do the same thing.
Might be wrong though, 1.73 cant be argued with though!

I'm sure the instructions say to ensure you are using hand protection, which surely would imply acid

Just had a look on the Halfrauds website, and on reflection, I wouldn't trust that stuff further than I could shit into the wind. IronX is reasonably expensive granted, but that's too cheap for my liking. Would rather spend a bit more and have the piece of mind personally.
I buy IronX in bulk anyway, save a bit there and I have a load at the moment anyway

I used it again last night and sprayed it on, changes colour etc like iron-x, foams a bit more though, left it for five minutes, sprayed it off with water and everything just wiped off. I can't see anything regarding hand protection either. It also smells exactly the same so is most likely the same product which iron-x charges more more.

For the sake of £1.72 i'd recommend it and then atleast save the iron-x for the paint.

I purchased this stuff from Costco in Manchester, near the Trafford Centre. The label on the front says "Super Alloy Wheel Cleaner", "Auto Express Best Buy - 7 Times Winner.", so I thought it was probably pretty good stuff and would do the job of cleaning my new Volk alloy wheels.
How wrong I was. The 'Important' small print on the reverse, states that this stuff is no good for "un-lacquered, forged, anodised, chrome plated, un-lacquered and polished alloys, chrome/ahrome appearance centre caps/wheel nuts and wheels with damaged lacquer or split rims".
Basically, that means it's only any good for going over paint or varnish (lacquer), and not actually any use on metal, which one would assume a wheel cleaner would be useful for.
The end result is that my 1 month old £1500 wheels are now damaged, where the ACID (Hydrochloric acid, which is what this stuff is) has etched into the polished metal surface.
So basically this stuff is fine for cheap painted wheels, but no good for proper alloys. Great.

That's how they make it so cheap then. Barely any of the useful chemicalsc that make iron x what it is. So mainly brick cleaner then.
