imo to 60 a vts may have a bit of a go against a ctr, but my bro's 2004 civic type r after 60 would pull from a vts quite nicely, power to weight is only relavent on accel upto like 60 or 70 after that once you get into 3rd a ctr would do a vts quite nicely... 200bhp against 120bhp weight aside, whats going to win.. Them ctr's will pull upto 150mph (145mph on road angel) standard, forget paper figures.. At the moment i would rather have a vts as its a really good compromise on running costs etc and is still fast.. but a ctr is a completely different league after 60 or 70..
All IMO of course..

By the way, Danny is refering to the 87 model civic, an EK9, not the later EP3.
Both good cars. I'd take the Pepsi challenge against one on track

i showed my bro the saxo's party piece the other day compared to his ctr, a national speedlimit roundabout taken at about 50 or so.. he only just stayed with the sax round it.. we got home and he said "saxo's handle quite well dont they.." lol..

They also do a 1.6 16v vtec which are quick, they are about the same as a vts iirc but have all the drama of vtec at 8500rpm

Sorry Spencer.
Get it timed properly. Sub 6.0 is not going to happen with your car.

Ive done the clock in my near standard vts so thats probably around 130 mph so theres not much in it for all that extra bhp and and helluva alot of cash really is there
Private road of course
Bmc and supersprint center section to a magnex back box and thats it so i recon with a manifold and decat im staying with that ctr, plus my mate has a dc2 jap spec 98 intergra type r he was impressed with the vts power, what you gotta remember is the teg is lighter than the civic

Fair shout mate, but i would put money down that the ctr would beat a VTS, of course a tuned VTS would be a good race, but do the same mods to a ctr and bye bye.. lol.

I really wish people would shut up harping on about how the vts would whip much faster cars etc etc etc I think some people need to go out into the real world and try some real performance cars, yes the vts is quick for what it is but still some people need to get real. I was considering camming mine but after reading this thread I don't think my body could take the G-forces.
vts attitude anyone

do i get one of those suits that stops me passing out under the acceleration? I'm not saying the vts isn't quick, I'm just not going to get my cock out every time I read the letters V-T-S on the internet. I love my car but not that much
