re-jigged the list a bit so I know what I am doing and in what order it is being done still plenty to do should get majority out of the way in the next few weeks, should have more progress over weekend
Quote:
change rear bump strips
filler and paint spoiler
lower brace
fit billies and top mounts
Sort better oil return (similar issues to Si but the turbo is fine)
rear lines & vtr mc
200mm flywheel n clutch
1.1 box
when times allows
Elise Seats & subframes
ap 2pots 283mm disc
kurust underside of boot floor and hole in boot, zinc primer it all
sand down slam panel, strut tops and scuttle then paint
|
Anyway got these to fit with new top mounts

Ross it certainly does mate
Aly cheers yeah it defo feels good but plenty that can be better
conclusion is that 16v clutch setup needs fitting along with 1.1 box, inter bearing shafts plus bigger injectors then everything will be fine and can run around 12psi safely

that's a ridiculous amount of torque mate!!
I'm concerned (as I was on the day) why the power doesn't continue to rise to 5500-6000rpm, I am still of the opinion that the small exhaust diameter just after the manifold is causing you major restrictions, that should just open up and go on the make more power, even at low boost.
I worry that upping the pressure will make more power, but you're forcing more through a restriction...
Torque though! Wholesome goodness
Andy

there is one thing I am pretty 100% sure why power is being sapped going to change that, clutch, box give ti a run if it confirms my suspcions then bigger injectors will go in and you will be coming for another remap but will let you know in due course as I should have majority of the work done in next 6/7weeks.
But hey yeah the torque especially at that rpm is crazy!

Hurrah updates pretty much everything in bold is being done on saturday and the 3 things below the saturday after hopefully with the changes happening this week clutch, shafts n box will be able to take bit more boost. The cam should hopefully sure the "needs to go faster a bit more" on low boost issue then rest is just cosmetic.
Then end of the month when I get the injectors I should be able to turn the boost up again but will obviously do that when the remap happens unsure if I will do that this side of xmas but will see

what andy said about the exhaust being restrictive might be whats giving great torque
the t 2 exhaust houseing was very restrictive on mine and that made massive mounts of torque
