The extender is great - just I'm a learner
Its hard to tell from the LCD whether you get your settings just right or not... so I end up playing all day; then find out what went wrong when I download them onto PC

Pics look ok Simon, they have lost a bit of quality when you've resized them for the web.
The colours look a little odd, but that could be down to the resising.

haha!! im prob not gonna use him.
may use 123fstop as they will take paypal, where as ian kerr wanted an extra 3% for card, or cheque/direct payment.
123fstop are slightly cheaper as well.

Yeah, granted.. the quality is reduced when resized. Out of interest, what jpg quality do you usually save at for web resized images? I think I used level 6 for these.

I don't use save for web, I 'save as' and usually knock it down a bit.
Everyone has broadband these days, so my pics usually come out at half a meg each.

I dont save for web either - I use save as, but Im so used to putting normal website pics online I tend to use level 6. I guess to retain quality I should be looking more towards 10+.

10 is the minimum I use mate.
As a pointer, if you're using a long focal like 400mm try starting at around 1/400s for 3/4 shots and drop down as you get more confident or used to swinging a big old lens around. With my monster 120-300 and a monopod, I can happily get keepers all day about about 1/160s for those sort of shots, it's only practice that's all.

Totally agree... like I said a few pages back, I was too keen to drop the shutter speeds and forgot the guide rule about zoom : shutter speed.
Whats your view on ISO settings? I figured as it was a dull day, 200 or 400 was about right? I tried a shot in auto to see what settings that dialled in and that came back with 400 too.
I reckon Ad's just a bit obsessed with always using ISO 100
