Default 360 v wii - Xbox Purchased

Thinking about getting a gaming console, i haven't had one since the Ps2 and that was a while ago.

Can't decide if i should get an xbox 360 or an nintendo Wii Perhaps you can help? I have played wii sports, tiger woods and need for speed all which were pretty good. The boxing is very exhausting But i'm not sure if i would get bored of it?

Or the xbox 360? I know its a better gaming console, but not sure what games i would get for it, what do you play/enjoy.

Thanks.

James has got a Wii and it's good when you've got mates round as me and Kelly spend hours on it lol. But when your on your own, gets boring jumping around like a loon. So depends if you want it for when your bored at home alone or if you've got mates round. If it's a lonely call I'd say the 360

Depends on what you want from a console. The Wii is more group orientated IMO, it's for a bunch of friends to stand there fighting each other or doing the bowling.

If you're just wanting something for playing games then go for the 360. It's graphically superior and has loads of games so it'll keep you occupied. It's also the best for online play.

As for what games to get, it all depends on what kinda thing you're into. I'd recommend Gears of War, The Darkness, Call of Duty 3, Forza 2, Bioshock and Halo 3.

Think the Xbox would suit me more. I would play it with my mates, but not everyday, only at the weekends if we weren't doing anything else. Think i'll get the 360. Cod 3 is an options as i used to play Cod 1 on the computer alot. I could try gears of war, what kinda game is it? And ofc pro evil would be fun and any racing games.

Where is the best place to buy? I have seen them on ebay http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BRAND-NEW-Micr...QQcmdZViewItem

£117 seems a good price? Argos is around £170

What are good online games and whats needed to play online?

Cheers rep awarded

Thats for the core system though. It doesn't have the wireless controllers, the hard drive and a few other bits. You're best to go with the Premium or the Elite, unless you dont intend on using it for online...but you will.

currys.co.uk are doing the elite with GRAW2 for £300 and I should be able to find a code to get you £20 off, so £280 delivered

If you just want to go for the Premium then you can pick it up for £250 at play.com

TBH I wouldn't buy any electrical goods from Ebay as it's a hassle for returning faulty goods. But maybe that's just me.

Yeah Gears of War is a 3rd person shooter. It's still one of the best looking console games out and it's been out for nearly a year. One of the must have games for the 360. Bioshock is another must have if you like shooters. That has without doubt THE best graphics on a console. Also the highest scoring console game EVER

Premium has 20GB hard drive. The Elite has a 120GB hard drive and a HDMI port so you can view images at 1080p.

LOL was waiting for that.

PS3 if you want a Bluray player, nothing else yet IMO. Graphics aren't any better than the 360 at the moment, it's not as good for online play, it hasn't got as wide a selection of games as the 360 and it costs a whole lot more

120g hardrive :O

Play.com has the premium for £269.00 With gears of war.

More expensive that the £170 i thaught. Can the core not be played online? Or does it have a smaller hard drive/not as good graphics as the Premium?

The core doesn't have a hard drive, you'd need to buy a memory card to save games etc. Not sure if you can use it online. The graphics are exactly the same.

Nah it's £30 for the year, but well worth it. You can download demos, videos, add ons and obviously play all your 360 games online with your friends.
