My CCTV Setup
Got 1 camera for now but have another 2 on the way, check out the infrared view at night now and the program I run it on.
Records when it detects movement, can watch it on iphone or from any email address, switches to infrared at night (15m range) - Totally wireless so can go anyway, can have upto 8 cameras, with full PC software for monitoring it all, alarm can be set to go off too, all details of dates and times kept also. Will get some daytime pictures and pictures of the camera itself at some point, really quite small with lots of IR LEDs and a little aerial
Can also do alsorts with the program, can zoom / pan / crop etc - £70 from www.spycameracctv.com
Caught on camera hahaha
Short video of a neighbour parking (Click the image to view), was checking he didn't hit my Mums car haha (Ignore the sound, needs sorting and it's windy as fook as well)
And it also keeps a log of when motion has been detected and anything else that goes on in a note. Makes a separate video / picture folder each day as well so it's all catalogued back and easy to view / access if needed.
All in all it is fantastic, arrived the next day after ordering and it's working brilliantly. Made up with it

Looks awesome! I have no need for this shit up here but if i lived where you live i'd have one of these!
So when it records to your HDD do you just delete the recordings everyday? (after you've checked no damage done to the house or car etc)
Your neighbour is shocking at parkingg. Could do with something to shield the microphone from the wind to reduce wind noise

you may want to adjust your mic sensitivity / recording level (I can hear it being set on loud as fuuuuuu) as it sounds like it's distorting, not just a wind problem.

It records up until the HDD is full, then if you want you can set it to delete the oldest stuff to keep it free. I have it recording to an external 1T hard drive so it will hold a couple of days worth of film or more I think, then it deletes the oldest footage automatically
You don't need to watch it all back, as it's obvious if you come home and there is damage or something missing so you can just wind through that day, then burn the footage to a DVD and print out some print screens of the culprits and give it to the police - Pretty sure since it has the date and time it's good in a court of law?

There is a PIR light at the front of the house, when that comes on it gets brighter, but even without it the IR LEDs light it up plenty

Ahh ok. Security lights ftw.
IR cameras are great. One of ours does it too.

What's the 3 wires for that's hanging out of the cam itself? Is it for if you want to connect it through cables? Surely 1TB would store more than a couple of days worth?

Yeah you can connect it to a TV if you wish, and I don't know, just that clip of me neighbour parking is about 30mb
You're probably right, it depends how much activity there is, probably last well over a week, I just can't really tell tbh

Just depends on the area and if you've had trouble before I suppose.

It's now in it's new position in the shed, since we've had people trying to break into the sheds and bottom of the garden
^ Don't know why it's gone black and white though (EDIT! WAS JUST THE SETTINGS, COLOUR NOW)

I see. My lounge is the other end of the building from my front door so connecting it to a tv would be a mess of long cables lol but I suppose watching through a laptop would be fine. Did you have to drill a hole in the wall to feed a power cable to it?

When it was mounted were? Outside last night I just left it dangling through the door (Very thin wire) - Now it's in the shed so there is already power going to it so it's just plugged in ready to catch any fuckers trying to do anything
Slightly better but the trees are purple lol - Will have to mess with the Hue / Saturation and all the rest of the settings
