Depends on how its been modified, some xboxes have a switch to turn the chip off allowing you online but if it hasnt they will catch you

They don't get "chipped" .. they get the drive firmware "flashed"
Depending on what version it has (i run the latest Stealth firmware) you wont get caught.
It also depends on the quality of disk and speed it gets burned at, if load times are varied then they will catch on.
Been running a "modified xbox" for a while now, updates and everything are fine.
Also it will play perfect with "original" disks.

Dang, I swear ive seen that scene before. But the only film like that Ive seen I think was schindlers list which was ages ago.
Might of just been a clip in history or something.

Me brother was using a 'modified' 360 online for ages using copied games.. But then got caught and they shut it down.
As far as I know it depends how well its flashed.. don't know much really apart from it's risky!

Even if you do get caught you just "unbrick" the drive again, your live account isnt banned..etc
I'd rather take the risk, sold premiums + some games, still got elite as a spare though
I'd advise you either know what you're doing with the flashing otherwise you can f*ck it up, either that or some places do it...

Yeah well my uncle can do the flashing no problem so if i do brick it, thats ok i suppose. Only concern ive got is that its running so loud its untrue!
Is that a common problem or not?
Also ive got a wired pad, which has a cirlce connection type not usb. Whats that all about?!

its down to luck i had the first flashware, and been on live for the last 9months (playing original games) - but still i got told id get banned, however i created a new profile so the copied games wernt showing a gamer score in profile.
HOWEVER
if its breaks ur KNACKERED!
yea u can get it UNFLASHED!
but that doesnt change the fact to flash you remove the "warranty sticker" as soon as thats tampered with THEY WONT EVEN GIVE YOU A CHARGEABLE REPLACEMENT... i know as i just got 1 red light this morn but its cheaper to get it fixed by people on ebay..... £32 where as its £60 as u only get 1 year warranty on 1 red light, but i cant as the warranty sticker has been tampered ith

How did you create a profile so that it didnt show your score?
Will that enhance my chances of not getting caught?

I've got 3 sat here without warrenty stickers.
If they break they're the easiest thing in the world to fix.
You'll get caught if you use shit disks or get bad copys as if it detects the load times are completely wrong then bang you're done
Thankfully most of the new games are already stealth patched to work alongside the stealth firmware, therefore i'm quite happily downloading and burning the latest games then playing on live with them.
There's that dashboard update soon which I'm fairly confident wont suspect a thing.
The only issue I can see is when Call of Duty 5 is released, they may clamp down on it like Halo 3, so anyone playing it before release date will get banned, easy enough to pull the ethernet cable out of the back though
