Default spamming/repeat threads

anyway of stopping newbies and others creating new posts that have been covered millions of times, really annoying logging on to read the same sort of posts everyday. i now we have stickies and a search button so why dont others use it? maybe more severeve punishments like being blocked for a week or something

sadly its not just newbies.

I know of several long time members who are to lazy to read FAQ and look at the stickys.

its a problem with most forums, not alot you can do about it really.

jesus, just remember if there was no reposts there would be zero new posts, people would leave, visiting numbers would go down, etc etc etc. i know its annoying to have the same questions asked again and again, but it keeps sax-p going.

the noobs are the next generation sax-p'ers

FAO anyone who took notice/saw my post about the sites funding.

I apolagise to simo for offence caused, was out of order.
Simo spends his own cash, and puts alot of time and effort into this site.

If you have no idea what im babbling on about, dont worry.

hhhmmm, true,as i said just shining a different light.
doesnt sound nazi, its not like were forced to come here is it,i suppose if ya don't like the rules get out.

and yes imho most people can have a laugh and alot of people talk bollocks.
.

so to stop spamming?well for example in the south east chat we got our own general chat bit were people can talk about what ever, gets deleted and a new one made after a 100 posts, this was because we found that people talked about meets which lead onto other things,so the meets section is just to arrange time, places who going etc and then talking about it is done in GC.we found this is less clogging and confusing on the main meet section.

alot of things contribute to spamming,it can be done inocently (sp) were someone talks about the actual thread subject then says something completely different and others follow from that. Not much you can do to stop that apart from mods editing/deleting irelevent posts.

as for repeat posts as said above how about seeing if we can have a system were if some goes to make a new thread it says have you searched yet, then if they continue to create a new thread, before posting it,it gives all relevent subjects, like a auto search kinda system.

thats my contribution before i get flamed for spamming.

Is there an automated message you could setup with goes to every new member reminding them to always search before posting questions etc?
