the safety bonnet catch? the one in the grill. aero catches are just bonnet pins with a flush casing.

means you can remove the catch without comprimising security, as aerocatches can be locked

ye thats what i mean ger aero hatchs with the locks then you can get rid of all the bonnet lock and cabling etc

with normal bonnet pins on a track/road car id keep the bonnet lock

i see now lol. i don't really like the look of aero catch's though. i might just padlock the pins if I am going somewhere dodgy. i don't know many people that go for the bonnet first.
And samfenna i'm paying from what i have saved up for a few years and some money i got of my relatives. Could of gone for a nice comfy modern car, or do this. i chose this

they look cleaner IMO but they do look very jap.

i know what you mean about people not goin for the bonnet, but easy catch if you just have pins, battery is worth abit, dependin on induction system etc

just think they are safer

Nice project you have there, especially at your age.

I used to have that cage in my last shell, definetly one of the better made examples compared to the omp versions etc.
I can also recall the main hoop being a right pain to get into postion.
Are you planning on removing the cage again once you have tacked the plates in place?
If so a ratchet strap will be your friend when having to get the main hoop back into place as you will need to pull the main legs inwards to clear the mounts.

Looking at your cage mounts, you may want to weld some M8 full nuts on the underside of the plates before you weld them in. This will give a better point for bolting as opposed to tapping the plates themselves.

I'm not bolting the cage in. im welding it. i got the bolt in becasue the connection between the main hoop and front sections is far stronger than weld in cages becasue it has mechanical strength using the sleeves. im just welding the sleeves instead of bolting them.
and i got my tank on good ol' ebay

Just had a trial fit of my seat to see its fit in the car. Glad to say it does. They look so god dam good, can't wait until they're fitted.
