Pugs/saxos don't really rust visibly. Its under the ECU as mentioned and also the bottom of the arches in the boot are the main areas to look for.

True dat, I knew my one needed cleaning up when I bought it, but it just went on and on luckily my old man is pretty good with a welder and I had the time to strip and underseal the whole thing, so hopefully she will pass.
If not il just reshell it all into a 1.1

Think i'll give my own another check just incase. Just bought it recently but i haven't come across any rust problems atall. It's a 2001. That looks really bad mate. Reminds me of an old Escort XR3i i bought years ago. Looked minted from the outside. I wanted it as soon as i saw it. I didn't think to check the car properly, it was only my second car ever. Turned out the rot underneath it was terminal. You should have seen this thing. Looks like it's curtains for your car mate, unfortunately.

The only bit of visible rust i can see on my 01 plate is a patch on the drivers door seal. It's about 10cm x 5cm big...
I'm going to try salvage mine next month.
