Default 16v conversion

I'm not one to ask something that has already been posted, but i'm going to anyway.

Thinking off dropping this VTS engine into my VTR. However the VTS is a single plug (mk2 though) whilst my VTR is a 3 plug. Can someone explain in simpleton terms how much of a faf it makes the conversion?

no different from any other in terms of wiring. You still have to splice it or replace the entire interior loom.

If you've got the VTS why don't you just fit the earlier interior loom as well? It's not much of a fuck on, and all the light connections etc will be fine anyway?

its easier to take the seats and carpet out first which takes about 15 minutes if your quick. Then just swap the looms over, its not a small job, but once you've done it you will wonder why it took you so long as it is very easy.

It's a doddle mate, plus you can pull the dash out and get rid of all the weighty sound deadening

Ohhh full race car mode.

I'm still slightly unsure if i'm happy with putting a 137k engine in mine, it might need to be rebuilt first.

What's the history of it?

What does it run like? Could always compression test it? Do a mild refresh before you drop it in, head gasket, water pump, timing belt. Again, if I can do it...

Had a head rebuild at 90k as the cambelt jumped a few teeth due to the garage leaving slack in it or something..

But I'm thinking, if they are stupid enough to let the cambelt do that then how shit is the head rebuild going to be..

Here is the cars thread - http://www.saxperience.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=282598

Mine had 16 new valves and a top end rebuild to the tune of £800 2 month before I bought it with a receipt, I still changed the head gasket when I pulled it 10k later to change the timing belt, it was weeping oil slightly and seemed a no brainer to do it while I had the belt etc off anyway. Piece of mind innit. Be a twat if you changed the belt etc and the hg went a few month later lol
