New plugs went in yesterday, old ones were very tired as I'd robbed them from the old vtr engine in previously. Can't fault 6 quid delivered from eBay!
Engine idles a touch better. Just need to make up a proper dash pod for my oil temp gauge and switches now, then ill refurb the rear beam or at least paint it but that's something for the future

Just drained the comma gearbox oil for some transmission bv 75w80 total stuff, so that's the right stuff in there now and 26 quid for 5l of it delivered is not bad at all.

Not as yet mate, been itching to get it out on track when my finances settle down but its taking forever. Always something to buy or spend money on but then thats house ownership/mortgages for you. I will be doing it though. Got a new little extra coming soon for this too hopefully

Got bored today and did a coilpack conversion to HT leads on the vtr
Swapping the coilpack holder / camshaft cap
All fitted up, wired in and running. Need to redo the cold air feed and sort some more bolts out to secure the coilpack as I've lost a couple
And some thing for a rainy day to rebuild and mess with. Incidentally where I got the coil pack plug from here too and a bit of butchered loom so saved me having to source one!

Went and bought some sealer to do the vectra - nightmare water leaks on that! So I did the saxo rear window too, it's just decided to pour down with rain now so we'll see if it's worked

Gandi699's Amazon Mk1 VTR
Today it poured down so I got stuck in on the car again - Bye bye 8v, hello empty hole, pipes and wiring.
Thanks to Badgersport for use of the crane too, big big help that was

Ah have you been a previous user of it then too? Very kind of him to lend it me and drop it round too - top bloke.
Yep 16v going in, just need to fit some parts to it then drop it into the bay!

Gandi699's Amazon Mk1 VTR
Been working on it today again, spent an age getting the cam covers off as the bolts just spun in their holders
Then spent the best part of 2 hours hammering the water pump out, wasn't this bad on my old engine looks like it's original and the housing was full of silt and shit.
Put a new pump on it
Then fitted a new timing belt etc, forgot to get pics of this though.
Dropped it back into the car.
Still need to wire it in, sort the fuel lines out and do the shafts etc but at least the heavy lifting is done especially since I've got a bad sciatic nerve.
