Ive been on there website to look at what they do, and what they have to offer....Im looking at getting a 170bhp conversion..now ive been looking at past topics on here, and it dont sound all good...but ive spoken to, and visited the guys at lad....and im just confussed..when i was there i saw a normal vts on the rollin road before it was about to have the conversion done and one that was being picked up by a customer that had the conversion done..both rollin roaded in front of customers, the conversion was running at 170bhp.....so what have people heard about this company, because i dont wanna blow a load of wedge on a load of lies....

lies. The spec they quote would never hit 170 ever. ROlling roads can be made to read whatever they want them to read...

just wondering how they can say that and know its all lies, you would feel a dick, taken it to another rolling road centre feeling very pleased with yourself only to be told it aint what you thought!!!

Im trying to find out as much info as i can they say that "Power raised to approximately 160 bhp at the flywheel by extensive cylinder head modification, incorporating larger inlet and exhaust ports and revised camshaft timing. An exhaust manifold and system based on the rally Kit Car engine can be fitted to the 160 bhp kit; this produces another 10 bhp raising the power output to approximately 170 bhp".....is this possible???

bullshit. i wouldn't believe anything that LAD said about their figures. i've seen more than one car with this conversion hit nowhere near 160 on a rolling road. avoid.
in fact, try emailing them asking them to prove it and to explain how these mods would hit their claimed figures. bet you hear nothing back.

just ask yourself, do you really think you can get 170bhp from a single thorttle body on a 1.6 engine? 120bhp as std is a massive figure for a 1.6 and for about 1k they claim to get you another 40?

<sniff> guess what I smell..?
Just have a look into any of the San Remo or Tour de Corse models of the Saxo...LAD conversions- most of which that have been RR'd arent hitting anywhere near their quoted figures.
You'd be better investing your money in something from a reliable company - maybe some throttle bodies or a S/C conv' at GMC? I know the cost is higher, but worth it!
If I had the money to spare - I would! But insurance companies don't like me as it is

GMC are the Daddies! ask for there oppinion, they are honest! 170bhp! from what they claim to do is just silly, do it properly!! even ask for an indipendanr RR test to prove there claims once the conversion is done... ah yeah they wouldnt agree would they!

Its going to GMC after xmas sometime the total conversion including big disk 4 pots, is about.... wait for it........5800....money well spent... the car will stay standard looking except for m3 mirrors, slightly lowered, and full exhaust system....the wheels will not change....keepin the vts rims.
