Default Saxo 1.4 VTS Turbo

Hey, I just got a 1.4 VTS (European Model) with 75cv and I would like to increase the power to 100cv.

I know it would be a lot cheaper to buy a different engine like the 1.6 16v but I might get in trouble with the police.

Because it's only 25cv can I just put a small turbo, what kind of turbo would you recommend?
The idea it's also to leave the engine and gearbox stock.

Thanks.

I meant 100/120hp, what's safe to go with everything stock.

you could change manifold 4.1 , re work the head , change the cam newmans / kent cams road one , a decent induction kit and then re map it that would possibly take it closer to vtr in terms of power .

Simply changing the camshaft to a fast road camshaft will take it to 90-95 straight away.

You could maybe find a 1.6 engine, and use the cylinder head from the 1.4 with a sports camshaft?

Yes you can turbocharge if you want to, it's adding a lot of complexity. Maybe you want to try a GT1752 (or a cheap copy of one) and run it around 0.5 bar of boost just using the wastegate spring. That will be very safe. you will need come kind of management to add fuel, 5th injector would be the cheapest way.

straight swap for the 100ps 8v 1.6 will get you 100ps and look the same as a 1.4 at a glance...

His issue is probably the change of engine number will require a modification certificate.

You're going from Alloy to cast iron as well. Feels bad.
