Default Ballpark figure

Can it be made a rule to give at least a ballpark figure when asking for offers on stuff? Really annoys me when your just browsing see something you might want and theres no price on it, PM someone find you cant afford it etc and then you have to say 'Sorry im gonna have to leave it' and so on. WOuld be so much better if a basic figure was just posted

You should state clearly the following within your thread...

1. What it is you are selling, as the thread title.
2. What price or offers are acceptable.
3. A description of the item for sale.
4. Accurate information of the condition of the sale item, with photographs to support this if possible.
5. Details on how a potential buyer should make contact with you, i.e. email or Messenger address. (We recommend mobile numbers be given out through PM only)
6. Include information regarding postage and packaging costs to send the item or whether it should be pick up only.
Depending on how you read number 2, this is already the case... for example, I think that it suggests you should give the region of offers acceptable. If it was to include any offer, I would have worded it "What price or IF offers are acceptable".

Then again, I'm probably looking way too far into it

Yeah, I agree too. I always feel bad when someone says a price and I have to say that I'm not interested anymore...

Looking in the rules in the For Sale section though, rule number 2 says:

Quote:
What price or offers are acceptable.
EDIT: Seems I was beaten to it, but if we both have that view, then surely we must be right lol

I agree with what your saying. You shouldnt feel bad though, because half the time you ask for a price and you do say no, its due to the fact they are asking too much for the valuation of the product. And after all, its there own fault they havent specified anything.

I guess it's satisfying getting a load of people to ask 'How much' in your thread... seems like there's a lot of interest, whereas if a price was listed would there be as many posts? I don't think so.

Personally I owuldn't touch unpriced items with a bargepole.

I agree that classifieds like on ssc are boring

But there should be a guide price on items in the for sale section
