hi all,
i read that can fitting a induction kit to a smaller engine car (eg my 1.1i) can actually reduce engine power, how is this?

an open filter may do yeah as it will be sucking warm air in and they are mostly for sound as they dont increase power.

an enclosed air filter shouldnt reduce power but wont do loads to a 1.1.

just replacing the element proberbly would have been better and maybe 'moddifing' the intake? anyway i recently bought a 'greencotton' heatsheild and that seems to keep alot of the engine heat off,not bad for a tenner?
