Rear Saxo Vts Disc Brakes Problem
hi, was changing discs and pads alround on my friends 2000 vts today. front ones went on like a dream, however the rears have given my chronic ballache. the old pads and discs are very worn with grooves and scores all over them. after removing the old pads and disc i used a clamp to push the piston as far back as it would go then put the new disc on then the pad bracket but there isnt enough room to fit both pads back in. only one pad will go in and then im about 3mm shy of getting the second in. the new pads and disc are exactly the same size as the old ones just a bit thicker due to them being new. had to put the old ones back on till i get help. ive tried sliding the caliper back and forth but nomatter which pad i put in first the second wont fit. i even tried putting the pads in the bracket then bolting it into place but the holes wont line up to get the bolt through. any suggestions welcome. thanks.

errr aren't the pistons suppose to be wound back not pushed back like the fronts? where is the hand brake in the caliper or behind the disc (in a sord of drum-disc brake set up)
could be the reason why the pistons aren't going back far enough.

one of these idealy
but if you push back the piston with one set of grip and turn the piston with another pair of grip it will do the same

Not even that, find something with a square edge that will fit in the slots and mind the seal.
