Haha, yeah, no windows down I'm afraid. Sliders open however!
I think it will sound similar to my current exhaust, as that is made by the same manufacturer, and it's thin / lightweight steel. But yeah mate, it will be lovely not to have to deal with the blowing factor anymore! This exhuast is great because it's a 2 piece, which was the main factor why I went for it. My current exhaust is a 3 piece, and it uses these stupid olive type connections. In principle, the olive connections would be OK, but if the joining pipes don't match each other perfectly, you're in for a rough ride... And this has been the case with my exhaust. The middle pipe would not meet the backbox perfectly, so it was pretty much impossible to make a perfect seal. Shoddy design! And also, the old exhaust had a part of the pipe pressed inwards, to help fit under the torsion bar. I didn't like how small this made the bore, and also it was pressed in at the wrong place!
Thanks for the comments chaps! :d Yeah, I've got 15" Turini alloys.

The build design of your current one sounds wank LOL Toad! But I agree with
you that the idea of a 2 piece system is much better. Thats why I opted for
the pugsport centre section over the Magnex one as the Magnex came in 2 pieces,
decat and downpipe.
Would be interesting how this effects your current mods if any effect at all?

Agreed mate, it's so much simpler...
With regard to the effect it might make, well, it's purely the fact that everything will be nicely sealed for a change, which has to be a plus! My car is desperate for a re-map anyway, but I won't spend the money, not when I'm so close to doing the iTBs set up.

LONG story! I'll try to make short though...
When my car was mapped by Wayne at Chipwizards, it had a Powerflop exhaust fitted. It wouldn't show more than 140 BHP. Chatting with Wayne about it, he said he tried everything, and could only assume the exhaust was causing the problem. He mentioned that his equipment was still showing emissions inside the system many minutes after the engine was turned off, basically the exhaust wasn't allowing the gasses to exit quick enough. IIRC, one of the chaps at TMS said the exhaust "Looked the part, was was a bag of shyte." lol And "No good for performance purposes..."
So Wayne explained that the car was mapped, but it will need a different exhaust system fitted to show the normal BHP. Mid range was fine, but it wouldn't open up after 6000 RPM.
Anyway, I got the exhaust replaced (with what is my current exhaust) and things seemed better. However, the week after, I wasn't happy with the noise coming from my cambelt cover, it was really whiney, ever since I came back from TMS / Chipwizards. I took the car to a mechanic who said the belt was on too tight, and it didn't look new either. I wasn't happy as I asked TMS to replace the belt, but they didn't charge me, so I guess they forgot... Anyway, the mechanic made a big error! He didn't know much about performance camshafts, and he reset my cam timing back to the standard settings. I didn't realise this at first, well, I though the car was a little slow... I got on a set of rollers, hoping to make around 150+ BHP now that I had my new exhaust, and the car only made 125 BHP. I was well upset. I then twigged about the cam timing... Went back up to Wayne's and he tweaked the timing, and got it to around 153 - 154 BHP. I was pretty chuffed.
Since then, I've had a big valve head installed, and this has changed the characteristics a fair bit. I went up to Jam Sport in Northampton, and they said the engine was running lean. This was my fear, as a BV head in theory could cause this. They chaged some fuel regulator thingie, and then said it was much better. I wasn't convinced, but hey ho.
After then, I got it on another set of rollers, and had the fuelling properly checked, and it seemed to be fairly good. It was rich low down, but it seemed to lean up as you got through the rev range until it was fairly close @ about 4500.
So with ALL the above in mind, I think a re-map is defo in order. But no point if I'm going to go standalone with iTBs...

Certainly JP! And here you go mate.
Not great pics I'm afraid. It's dark outside and I haven't cleaned things up. But as you can see from the second pic, it's sitting lovely.
Here's a quick video too. Listen carefully to hear just how shocking my idle is. The noise is slighty drowned by the Polo that's ticking over, providing the light. lol If you watch carefully, you can see a cheeky wee flame or two! :d haha
View My Video
I didn't realise it would make a flame! When I'm in a better area, I'll have another go. That was the 1st attempt as I don't really want to piss off the neighbours!

very nice toad, ull find that you will probably need to take shares in a cable tie factory to keep the exhaust where it is.

I'll take a closer look when it's light again outside. I've got plenty of those tie suckers!
It's not even had a chance to carbon up and I can already feel the difference in performance. I'm seriously chuffed. That previous exhaust was definately robbing me of some ponies...
Even thought it's a similar build to my last exhaust, it sounds a fair bit different. It's nice and quiet on light throttle, so it makes for a quieter ride on the long streches. But as soon as you nail it, it sounds really funny. Almost like a moped with a base note to it. haha serously funny shit!

nah, your memory serves you well mate, as I laughed my ass off when I drove it from the garage. It's like a moped with a subwoofer noise! LOL. It's so much nicer, I love it already! ) That noise you hear in the clip isn't really what it sounds like from inside the car.
Init!

i'm not sure, maybe will get a piper or supersprint exhaust in the future quite like the tip on my standard one, rhys from south wales section has a pugsport just doesn't look right when not in the recess hole would be better if he got the recess smoothed then the pugsport would look ace.

they do a supersprint for the saxo which is the same thng as the pugsport,if you dont like th look then buy a tailpipe and weld it on the supersprint then you have a nice sound and good performance without losing your style.
