Oh man, what a day yesterday! The potions having been mixing heavily up in castle Toad...
Finch and myself spent practically the whole day working on the car. The plan was to take the manifold off, get it welded, re-wrap it, then obviously put it back on. Things didn't go quite to plan... Two of the threads in the head screwed up, so we had to redo them with this special tool. And there were a couple of stud positions that were virtually impossible to get a spanner too. Nightmare.
The good news is that the manifold got welded perfectly, and it's no longer blowing. The bad news is that my hands look like they've been through a blender!
BIG thanks to you Finch and of course your old man for coming to the rescue at the end.
I didn't get a chance to give the car a lot of beans on the way back, but it felt good, and I noticed an increase in back pressue (I think that's what it was) as the car deaccelerated much more when coming off the throttle. It felt tighter...
I'll post some pics up this evening when I'm home from work.
Finally, I drove to Swindon yesterday morning, early doors, and handed in a set of Superleggera's to get fully refurbished and painted. Any guesses on what colour?
Once they're done, they'll be wrapped in r888's and I'll be selling my current track wheels and tyres together.
