Forgot to mention, as we thought the shell is mint.

There is pitting under the ecu where they all go so that will be cut out and patched. Otherwise as it rolled out of the factory!

Got it done cheap. £120 for underneath, inside and engine bay.

He didn't get the seam sealer off and didn't do the wheel arches as it took him longer than expected. Annoying really, if he had called me and said I would have paid him a bit more to carry on!!

Watch out in the cage front, I know three people who race in different series/events who suddenly this year had to get half of their cages redone as they were running them joints, and at the event scrut they said they couldn't enter.
Seem to be cracking down on them.

colour chart doesnt do it justice! its a really wicked colour my mates old escort was painted the same...





under street light it almost looks white, and other light really sharp baby blue

Slightly poor update, been ripping the sealer and underseal out of the arches.

It's never ending, and time consuming.

I'm going to speak to the sandblaster tomorrow to see if he will have it back to do the rest, if not its going to be more heat gun and scraper and grinder with wire wheel!!

A few snaps:






I honestly can't stress enough how much sealer is on there and how thick it is in places (8-10mm!!!)

I've also ordered a RollCentre full weld in rollcage which comes with rear cross, drivers diagonal bar, roof bar, harness bar, cross door bars, and mounts to the beam.

The cage comes un-notched so we will notch it ourselves to get a better fit.
We will also be making the front triangulation ourselves.

Pics of the cage when it arrives!!

Took the car back to the shot blaster today, wasn't happy that we'd got enough sealer off and there was still some underseal in the arches.

We gave him some cash to disappear and we cracked on with his blaster ourselves!!

It was very very very dusty! Still some more to do











Look how thick the sealer is in places!!!
