DVD player handbrake cable
Just got a DVD player and need to wire the pink handbrake cable on the loom to the ground cable in the handbrake wiring, so that I can only watch DVD's when the handbrake is on. Was just wondering if there was any way of bodging it so that you can watch DVD's with the handbrake off? Don't know if you can reverse it, or ground the pink cable on the loom somewhere else?

its not connected at the mo, played a dvd earlier and will play the sound but no image - instead a warning message is displayed saying 'image disabled for your safety'. i'll have a play around with it later...

Do you have a wiring diagram how it is designed to be fitted?
It sounds like, it runs off of the circuit that lights up your "Handbrake" warning light.
So if it is energised, it makes the screen light up.
In this case, just wiring it back into the amp negative or the earthing point on behind the dash

I had a similar problem, I just scotch-locked it onto the earth wire on the same loom for a neat finish
