reset your ecu its probaly still trying to idle as if you still have your vtr throttle body on
this 1 is much bigger there for id say the sensors are sensing not enough air in the enclosed part and drawing more in hence why the idle is at 2k
try disconnecting battery if you havent already...
i take it you've followed this guide to a T?
also try find out if the was diff versions of the body...dont think there was but check anyways.

looks the same as the guide, and followed the guide as well as could be, i tried adjusting the idle screw but it appears that the butterfly is closed even when is revving at 3k which makes me think tha its drawing in air from somewhere?

you put the bolts on to the correct torque setting for the inlet, fit new seals etc?
cleaned the ICV and other sensors? where you have drilled the hole for the ICV its not seeping in air around that area is it?

the reason it idles like a dog, is because the s1 didnt have an icv....
you could try buying a new icv and starting a fresh, but its £65 for a new one.
resetting the ecu does'nt do anything, tried this and it didnt work....
the thing to do is.....pull the icv apart (pull the shaft out with the rubber end on) take the spring out, then get a 1/2mm washer and put that on, this will stop the plunger fully returning.....

also the throttle has an over run? takes a sec or 2 when in gear to drop revs when you let up, soon as you drop the clutch pedal it drops revs for a half sec then flys up to 0ver 3 k the slowly settles to3 or just over?

s2 is the same as the vtr inlet, which is plastic, so using the inlet off s2 will make no diff, but the s1 is alot bigger and made from steel (i think lol, cant remember) so with this you get better airflow and intake etc
