Default Connecting 360 to Home cinema system?

Right I've got an LG DVD player with surround sound compatibility but only have my subwoofer wired up, no speakers, as I wanna use my TV speakers for sound!

I can't figure out how to get the sound from my xbox to the telly via the DVD player. Have connected scart lead from DVD to TV, same with the Y,W,R audio cable and changed the DVD setting to TV-AUDIO but still getting nothing
Do I need the other component cable with G,B,R??

Hold up.. that DVD player won't output in HD. Nor can I see any bypass connections, same input/output types.

Is the Component connections on the back of the DVD player inputs or outputs?

The yellow coaxial need to them, is that an S/PDIF? again input or output?

At the back of the TV with the G,B,R its 'component in' and on the DVD player its 'component out' and the yellow coaxial is the 'monitor out'

You're not going to be able to get the sound from you xbox to the tv via the DVD player then I'm afraid.
