Default 'Meshed grill' problem.

Just taken delivery of a meshed grill from someone off ebay and it really does look naff. The 'mesh' itself is just some cheap rubber crap which isnt in any way bonded onto the grill itself.

There is no backing on the grill either which seems odd, and upon fitting it has a clearance of about 20mm to where the actual screws go into it, in other words the screws dont reach, just one either corner.

Is there any way of sorting this? I have another standard MK2 grill which I could use parts from if necessary.
Cheers.

you would be better with something like this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/NEW-BLACK-...item23383973a8
and cut it to shape and bond it on or screw it on

i used an alloy primer i had spare for the grill, did two small coats.
then sprayed the mesh black.
i then sprayed with the colour, same again two coats and let it dry for 24hrs.

if you want info on names of paint etc i used feel free to post.

Mesh it yourself. I'm sure there's a thread on here that I saw but its easy enough to do off the top of your head. Cut the slats, sand down any rough bits, stick the mesh in. Mines held on with duct tape and it doesn't budge!

I bought one of these off ebay new. The mesh was held in by screws. i didnt like it that much so cut the slats out of the standard one and used the same mesh . My mesh wasnt rubber though.
