Grooved & drilled discs
Hi guys,
Just replaced my rear discs and pads with OEM Brembo's, huge improvement as the old ones were in terrible condition! Feel so much more solid and controlled when braking hard now, no floaty feeling!
Anyway, next job will be replace the fronts. I have thought about getting uprated discs for the front. Getting grooved and drilled discs worth getting?
Any advice and which brand of disc to get?
Many thanks
Dan

Never really seen the point of grooved or drilled discs, most cheap ones have issues with cracking.
best bet is to rob the setup from a 306 with a bigger engine, they have 266mm discs which are more than adequate for stopping a saxo!

Im just looking for a straight swap, but if I can benefit the braking power then that'd be great....
What about Brembo's grooved discs with that coating on them?

Maybe if you were racing around a track everyday you'd feel the improvement. Not worth it imo. Even the bike's got normal vented disks on and that's high performance.

Grooved yes to help de glaze the pads
But drilled are prone to failure so next avoided

Brembo Max discs then? They're grooved and coated.

Are the 306 discs/calipers a straight fit?

Yes. 95% of the peugeot/citroen brake setups are directly interchangeable.
I would urge anyone NOT to go to 283mm setups (gti-6, 2.0 hdi 307 etc) as it's massive overkill and actually detrimental to the handling, but stick with 266mm setups from the mid range cars. The range of discs and pads available is very good.

Cheap plain discs and then decent brake pads. Works just as good as a 266mm setup without the weight. The only thing you dont get is the change in pedal feel due to the difference in caliper piston size and master cylinder.
