Which Amp?
I was looking to buy the JBL GTO 1201.1 seen as its a high powered amp at an amazing price. Now ive found out that everywhere has none in stock.
Any ideas on a different amp with prefrebly the same amount of power and around the same price if possible, if not possible then just a good amp with the same amount of power. Btw, i havent bought a sub yet either.

It really depends what you want and how much you want to spend. If your going for a high power amp then you really want a 1 ohm stable one which usually costs more otherwise youll use much more power
A similar one is this Vibe one which is 750w not quite as much as the jbl which is like 1111rms iirc
a good sub to go with this would be this
all depends how much you want to spend

lol that was an example of the advice you get without a budget | how much you planning to spend because then people can find everything you need and make it sound good

which amps that for mate? the newer model?
if thats the case id be inclined to go for two dual4ohm subs
http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/dyna...d4-p-6407.html
something like that would provide 1200wrms of power which is going to be immense, but the solid drivers will provide high sq
ill be purchasing one of these subs at some point, however ill only want 1 as for an sq set up i wouldnt personally want anymore power than what the sub offers

cheers ash, yeah ive seen it on ebay for £170 too.
looks like ill be buying the newer model because im going to wait 1 or 2 weeks before i order it, so the old one will probably be gone by then.
yeah i like the look of that sub.. isnt that amp far more powerful than that though?

i was suggesting you buy two of those subs lol
imo, that jbl amp isnt good for an sq setup, its simply too powerful (coonper and csvtr may have differnt views)
but an sq set up in my mind should be around 500wrms or even less!
thats why i only plan to have a 600wrms sub in my system, unless a better sq sub comes up at the right price
the amp is more of an spl amp in my mind

2 of these would = 1200wrms at 2ohms, but the amp would give them 1500wrms at 2ohms, im sure they would take it
and imo no, you get to a certain point where it just becomes noise, no matter how good the drivers are, all you get is "noise" with no real sound quality
seriously 1000wrms is a HELL of a lot more than people think
