Default Tall people problems

Hi, I am a recent owner of a 1.6 vts 16v.
I have some problems with my driving position, since I find myself to far from the steering wheel (to make enough room for my legs) and rubbing with my hands on my legs when turning. This doesnt allow to stay with my hands locked up on the wheel even on high speed corners.
So I am looking to purchase a steering wheel, i was wondering if a deep dish steering wheel with a smaller diameter would improve my situation? If so, what diameter do u guys recommend?

Thank you

you an buy steering wheels with extended boss as well as a dish --so no problem --just look around .
you could also look at making up new seat mtgs to lower that as well

I had a OMP Boss, Sparco quick release and 3" dished OMP wheel and it was nearly hitting me in the chin.

A 3" universal boss and a dished wheel would be ample but as axsaxoman says, ideally you'd need to lower it down a bit.

Thanks for the replies, ideally I would change the seats since mine aged quite a bit (and purchase lower ones). The steering wheel was more off a quick fix, so I might purchase an omp deep dish then.

then once you lowered seat and smaller wheel --you lower the column so you don,t have to reach up to far and your hand is closer to gear lever---easy fit1" spacers to the 3 bolts holding the steering column to dash

Thanks once again, after i have the steering wheel and seats i will take a look at the column, and check if it needs to be lower. The driving position is my only complain with the car so far
