Engine cutting out, when changing down gears??!!
Hey guys, recently had my gearbox and clutch changed by a family friend, also did a service on it (All the filters, plugs, liquids etc.) and now every time I get to a junction and go to change down, the engine will cut out and I have to bump start it to get it going again. Also the speedo dosent work anymore, not sure if it is related or not?
Any ideas or suggestions as to what the problem might be??
Thanks!

Sounds like your battery isn't connected or the alternator is faulty if you can't use the starter to start the car.
Seems like the car is losing charge and thus can't create a spark causing the cut out.

I mean whilst rolling, I am able to bump start it. However if I have to stop, it has no problem with starting up again.

sounds electrical to me i'd suggest checking the following:
1) check the gearbox earth has been reconnected? also give it a clean with a bit of emery paper and WD40 should do the trick
2) check see if the crankshaft sensor or any of the wiring has been damaged since the clutch was changed
as for the speedo sender check the circuitry for any poor earths using a multimeter, you may find after cleaning the gearbox earth it might solve the speedo sensor fault too.

earth leads in the engine this is what caused my engine cutting out before. After spending over £100 on other parts that could be it

Mine done this before. Kept cutting out when coming up to a junction and the battery was dead, had to bump start it. Turned out to be the gearbox earth.
