Got my dampers today -
obviously 2nd hand, but work fine and no-one is going to see them anyway. Will be gathering parts for fitting Xmas time. Got the car back today, its fine to drive but gearbox is well on its way to dying. I have DB Auots looking for an XSI or rallye box for me and (i quote) they "can usually get most things"
So i will get myself some front dampers soon, a new gearbox, and maybe some fast road brakes as mine aint to fantastic....

Payment has now been given. So have I have just purchased a S2 Rallye Gearbox, that has been refurbished and then not used. Got it at a bargin price if this is true! Cant be any worse than the completely FUBAR box I have now.

Bad news...
And this is exactly why I do not like ebay. I told the seller I was from the Isle of Man.....He says thats fine, I pay him the £££, leave it a few days, get an email back....
"oh postage is £120...Will have to offer a full refund."
I mean I told him before I gave him any money where it was going to and he accepts. This really winds me up. Now I need to start looking for another rallye box......ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHHHHHHH!!!

Well we are going to try again! Have bought another S2 gearbox off ******, after getting my refund fot the last one. So waiting for that to turn up. I am really hoping my clutch wasn't contaminated when the oil got dumped when i last drove it. If not then I am chatting to a local lad about buying his 8v Throttle Bodies and manifold off him.....which would be awesome as I have been after a set of bodies for a while, but we see how the bank account is feelin.....
Thats all for now

I would love messing with this but I go through phases....TBH for where I live it is quick enough and enough fun, so I would be throwing money at it for no real reason..... Give me a week and something else will have changed and I will be back on it.....

Right. This is it now no more modding on this car as I keep getting bent over and shafted by it.
Got my "good working condition" rallye box fitted this week. Great! £150 quid, job done.
No. The box is completely F**ked and will cost £600 to rebuild according to a gearbox specialist. So after paying £185 for this box £150 for fitting I still have a broken car. I am now getting another standard R box (more money) and getting that fitted (even MORE money)
Once this is done it will probably be up for sale again. this car takes the p!55 sometimes....
I am not accusing anyone of scamming or lying etc etc etc, as I am in talk with the seller on resolving the issue!

Haha if it gets rebuilt I will be using it 100% but the cost of a rebuild is silly.....
At present I am sourcing another R box for now.....wont be buying anything mechanical without seeing/using it myself before paying...
