Just make your XP look like Vista and pretend, then wait till they sort some of the problems with it.

Id always chooce a Mac over PC but sometimes its easier just to get a PC as cross platforming a Mac and PC is a nightmare to say the least.
Vista does look pretty impressive but Id wait a while until the dust settles and all the bugs if any are sorted out.

totally agree up to the point where you said 'and...'
Sticking with XP on my main machine for the time being, gonna get a mac book in the next month or 2 though and hopefully get comfortable enough with it to then go mac before i need to upgrade to windows

Not a lot wrong with Vista as far as new Microsoft releases go. Especially once you have disabled a few things, and now with drivers and software support being much better. Although I wouldn't run Vista without 2GB ram, maybe 1GB if you really know what you are doing.

My mum got vista on her new Dell laptop and all i can say is how crap it is to be honest. Not alot is running on it which is a pain as its a business laptop so alot of her software isnt working.
But even more so than vista being a pain is how completely useless Dell are. I mean what other company supplies a computer wiht windows vista and 80% of the preloaded software isnt actually compatible with the OS ! makes me chuckle.
Dell have offered a nice voucher though for our inconvenience
