Well, Not got much done these past few days due to awful weather. I have been reading up and looking at wiring diagrams so I know what I need to look at to get the rev counter working again. Hopefully I can get that sorted this week. I then need to get my hands on a jigsaw so I can start to make this dash panel and tidy up the dash a bit. Once thats all done, I need to put some fresh coolant in the engine and she's ready for the track on the 19th.
Lot to do and diminishing amounts of time. In all seriousness, this might be the last track time she see's for a while. We NEED to find a new place to live that has a garage and these two sprogs are chomping my hard earned faster than I can earn it. Just need a small lottery win and we'll be reet.

I didn't get much time on the car again but I did manage to get this on:
And I got all the dash back together and ready for my centre console to be chopped up and fitted.
Made the cardboard template too.
Given up try I g to figure out how to sort the rev counter issue so it can wait until after the sprint day.

Could do mate. I might see if I can find another set in the meantime. Sure I read somewhere that the clocks "talk" to the ecu for the mileage and can cause issues or lock up if their is a difference... Dunno if this is true or not though.
Also modded a sax-p web address sticker while I was at it earlier and put her to sleep under the cover I forgot we bought ages ago so the Sun strip sticker can set without the cats climbing on it or any rain getting under it.

Yeah, I like it too. Sure I saw it done years back by someone but hey, looks better anyway.

Cheers dude. Let me try and see if it's the clock first, if it is then I'll get some other clocks and see if ryanmt still does mileage adjustment etc.

Got the dash chopped back a bit and the centre console is getting done. Just a few more bits to sort and get it fitted.

I was having a quick look round the car earlier and spotted the drivers side cv joint is covered in grease... Hopefully it has just popped off and will go back on and stay in place with the aid of a big jubilee clip.
Just another thing to add to the list of jobs for Saturday.

Normally I would but cash is properly tight at the minute so a bodge job is the only option really. Soon as I get the cash, i'll get another.

Yesterday was a busy day! My usual crew came over to help out and we got a fair bit done.
Cv joint was cleaned up, re-packed with grease and a couple of beasty zip ties are holding it all in place. Hopefully it all holds now.
We then set to sorting the brakes and ended up striping, cleaning and greasing the calipers and scrubbing the pads to get rid of the top layer of crud. Everything was then put back together and the fluid all bled to make sure there is no air in the system.
Today I managed to get the front cage legs bolted down a bit better and the centre console built and fitted. There is a lot more to these things than I first thought but after a bit of head scratching it all sits in nicely. It's not the best job ever but it seems to have worked nicely.
Just got to sort a couple more little bits and it's ready for the track again.

Cheers Blackie... That was a fair while back then, seems like i've had the cage forever hahaha
Just took the car round the block and it stops LOADS better than before and doesn't sound like a jews harp every time i change direction!
Needs a good run out now to fully test all systems.

Got a bit of time last night to repair the back box. It's not pretty but it's solid... So far!
Then I managed to sort all the crap I'm going to take and pack it neatly ready to go in the car on Thursday.

Well... There we go!! The car survived the day. Had a few minor issues but with them resolved and tyre pressures figured out she did really well! I REALLY need to learn to drive a lot better as Sam's lap times were better than mine until nearly the end however, I never made out I was the next davidtaylor or tiff nedel!! (hurhurhur)
Either way, I have some videos to edit, some data to overlay and some photos to sort through. Then I have a list of new bits that should help me find my driving skillz a bit easier.

Cheers blackie, the track was awesome! Only a little karting track so ideal for the saxo's. I started out with a 1.44ish and ended the day on a 1.37 something... I'm sure Sam will be along shortly to remind me of how little a gap their was! Hahaha.
We will deffinately be going back for more fun and to hopefully improve our times. Their were some lovely motors there as well. Shame I was too busy to remember to get many photos of them all. I did get this though!
