toad you need to buy special top mount strengtening plates to accomodate these type of top mount. they have a very large internal hole to allow the camber/castor adjustment. you have to cut a massive hole in you strut top then weld the plates on.

Come on, tell me about these special plates. Anyhow, the adjustable mounts still won't fit right, as the PCD of them doesn't match my strut.

Thanks, but that's not going to be of any use. The room between the plate and boss (horizontally) is too small, so camber angle cannot be adjusted...

How much you offering?
I haven't done any work on the car in ages. I've just moved house, so money has been short, and pretty much most of my time has been taken up with other bits and bobs. Still, when I get a chance to drive it, it reminds me why I keep it. From a rolling speed, it's quicker than a BMW Z4 3lt, as I found out not so long ago, and they've got 260+ bhp. Amazing what a difference lightness can make.

remember when i saw your car for the first time at the west mids RR meet was fucking awesome lol lifting off the dyno because of its low weight and yea your right it is amazing what strippage can give you most the lads i know from west mids have slagged out saxo's and 106's (rushy) aha

Cheers mate. Yep, lightness is definately the way forward!
I'm going to have to pass on the generous offer though I'm afraid...

haha lee, only joking mate, i knew you didnt forget me.
toad, would it be possible to ask lewis for the dimensions of the top mount plate and go to a laser cutting company and ask them to make a blank one with only centre hole out then drill the locating holes yourself?

Yeah, but it's getting to the point where I might as well start making pieces myself... I'm kindda losing interest at the minute.

Dude I also have these plates which are the right type (bottom ones in the pic), you just need to get some spherical top mounts to go with them, as i was sold the wrong size, hence them not fitting mine. They are designed to fit the compbrake top mounts. I've bought AST top mounts now instead, and i'm still having a mission trying to fit them as now the damper and top spring cup are different..I am going to AST on saturday to sort it!
Here are these one's - they are from a guy on the rallye reg and they are right as loads of people have them. £37 delivered and they're yours (what I paid) I won't need them now though.
