Default iridium spark plugs? make a difference?

looking at getting some new plugs is it worth the extra money for the iridium ones? (standard are about £10, iridium £30!)

may have this wrong but only worth it with a highly tuned cars making them work hard to ensure a good spark for full burn of the mixture every time, for little tuning or standard cars standard ngk or champion will be fine

No they don't. Just last longer - Go for NGKs, Bosch 4s, Splitfires etc

My 2 cents on another old thread.
For me iridium all the way. 4 cars in the household, 2 of them don't have iridium plugs, because...they're diesel.
Denso iridium on both the Citroen and the Peugeot.

NGK iridium on the 2 stroke/2 cylinder outboard and 50cc 2 stroke moped.
Snowblower and the 4 stroke outboard still have "normal" plugs until they're due for replacement.
Easier start, much SMOOTH running, the longer life span is also very welcomed.
As it is the lower emissions/smoke, wider plug gap, less carbon/fouling (quite evident specially on the 2 strokes).
Quite honestly beside the higher price, I'm still to find a problem versus the other counterparts. Believe me in the last >30 years I tried from the Lodge Golden (any one remember that!?) to 2x, 3x, 4x poles, platinum etc.
Be well
