Whats my graphics card
Sorry wrong forum i know, but im in a rush and the IT section is ALWAYS dead. My mate asked me to format his computer, and reinstall windows he was having major troubles, so i have done. Now im trying to update his graphics card, soundcard etc, the only way i know of seeing what make it is, is going to start, run, typing dxdiag and doing it that way, but there is no model or anything, i know its an ATI Radeon as i looked in there before i formatted it, but i didn't see what model it was. Same with soundcard, i know its a realtek, but dont know what model. How do i see what model these are please? Thanks

Physically look at them? Should be marked on the actual* cards.

^^^This, so i'm not gonna restate the obvious.
if these are added cards, ask your friend for the drivers discs.
If these are the original components supplied with the computer, then ask your friend for the backup discs.

Did The sound card some with the computer if so open up the case and look what model number the mother board is (normal printed on) then go to manufactures website and the audio card driver is normally there.
While you at it I would see if the graphics card model number was written on it

Ok i know its an MSI ms-7184 motherboard, its got a built in graphics card which i know is an ATI Radeon but i don't know which model. I run MSI live update, install the mainboard drivers, but still no idea what the model is. I'm downloading the realtek soundcard driver now, hopefully i can get that running, but i dont know what model the card is. On msi live update under Live VGA Updates tab, theres loads of drivers, for certain graphics cards, but like i say, not sure on the model of the card

Download this and run it on his PC, it will tell you everything you need to know about his PC including what Graphics the Motherboard uses.
Save a log of the results and post it on here if your not too sure
