photoshop lighting techniques
was a bit bored so played around with converting a day image to night then adding different lighting techniques, in the form of window lights, neon spot light (which is back lighting the building), porch light, headlights lighting up the front of the house, fire and some fireflies

cheers

nice one. looks really good. Perspective wise your chair and floor are wrong. Drop a layer over the front lit up area and get a hint of yellow onto it too I like the cat

haha lol ryan pay me an i will tutor you (or just steal some of your kit lol)
as for learning it there are specific books out just for adobe photoshop cs3 etc, then there are websites like digimods, tutorialized.com and deviantart which also have a good mix of stuff, youtube isnt too bad either
there also used to be loads of video tutorials on the adobe website although not quite sure where they are now

On the subject of this, what i normally do is take the lens flare. Place it in a real place in the sky. I then take the lighting effects & use a spotlight with the colour orange. I then just play around with the sliders until it looks correct.
