Default Experience help please? Going on holiday soon....

Hi,
Not very often i post in here but i always have a flick through for useful tips etc.
My question is :-
Im going on holiday in september and i want to look as good as possible. Im currently 12st with a BMI of 24.1 and Body Fat% of 13.6 (not the slimest of people tbh! Carry a bit of fat but not alot!)

Im thinking id like to train some body parts more than 1/2 times a week. Main priorities would be chest and abs to be honest.
Can someone recomend a good training program i could maybe try please?
Personaly i think i would benifit from doing chest and abs 3x a week? Im unsure really but im still wanting to fit a good workout in there?

Sorry if my post seems a but unuseful/stupid just thought id ask for aome advice.
Thanks.

What's your current diet like? or do you just eat anything on the go?

Way i see it, abs are made in the kitchen/cardio, just work hard on cardio and eat well and your abs will show

Are you happy with your current weight? I would maybe drop my bmi down a little more nothing major but a nice cut diet then hit the weights. But thats fully up to you and your happy with how you are.

I just see building muscle with layers of fat above can make you look fatter tbh....

Im currently dieting 2000 calories 160+ gram protein in thier and lifting weights which should cause less muscle break down and the body focus more on the fat. I dont stick to the strictest of diets and always give yourself a *treat* or form of cheat day now and again or you will start to give up as a few of my mates have done in the past. Slow process at around a pound per week or so but works and i think you dont get that drawn in look?

Just something to think of but could even lose half a stone or so before september? If done slowly and training i think that in the 2 month thats your best option on the *look* side of thing.

Up to you though mate.. Best of luck

Thanks for the advice to both of you really fo help!

As for my diet id say im doing good with it.

On a morning for breakfast i either have 2 brown fibre toast with beans and 1 egg
As a 'snack between dinner and breakfast i like to eat fat free yougart and oats.
Dinner i tend to have a jacket potato and caujua chicken
Again either as a snack/half meal i have oats and yougart again or a protine shake until i finish work and get hole which is usualy things like vegitables/meat/curry etc.

As for take aways and things i like to treat myself every second weekend.

I was thinking i may do cheat 3 times a week (i train 5 days a week usualy) and now and again mixing another muscle group in with chest. Then on my other days do a few muscle groups as well?
And also a fair amount of cardio as like you say id like to drop a bit of weight just to look more 'slimmer' type of thing.

Thanks for the advice/help .

im in the same boat, however ive been a gym-goer for awhile,

for the best results of what u want, u need to do cardio cardio cardio,

and do some big heavy low reps workouts on the weights, but do more than just the chest and abs,

you wont have a 6pack doing abs in the gym within ur timeframe so forget that...

work on your upper body and cardio and get a better all round shape,

google scoobys workshop and read everything! then youll know 100% more on what to do,

also diet is the most important thing, if u eat too many carbs, your cardio for fat loss is pointless!

My gym is full to the brim at the moment with people thinkin they can turn into the hulk in a month for summer. Then in the winter months they all jog on. What ya can achieve in a few weeks is minimal.

Id just do a lot o core work. Just do your press ups, sit ups and hyperextentions as u have to work on your back aswell. U dont need to go to the gym for all that so no excuses haha. A bit of jogging wouldnt harm ya either.
