I wish I could say yes, and that would be the easy explanation.
The reality is I have my classes set up to finish perks that I haven't done before, ie sit rep, danger close, one man army etc and stupidly forgot to set them up properly before diving headfirst into the match with Matt. If I had set them up properly I probably would have won...

I did say recons on!
As for the rest of the comp still let people join round 1 as you need 8 winners so you can go 8 - 4 - 2 like a proper knock-out comp.

I didn't see my opponent on yesterday. He was on Wednesday admittedly but I'd not long prestiged so had few perks etc and didn't fancy going in half armed.
If it is not played before I go out tonight though I make not be able to do it before the deadline. I'll see if he's on in a moment.

One thing I would say is that I learnt not to bother too much with challenges on COD4 if you're prestiging. As I spent too much time trying to complete random challenges that my overall performance dropped so much that the benefit of the challenge reward XP was probably less than if I'd played with classes that I liked.

I randomly hosted a 1v1 competition match last night as it happens that was for money and they had radar always on. I thought it was weird at first but then thought that without it the match could be very boring.
